Hon-Komatsu Ishi - sourced from Manazuru Town, Kanagawa Prefecture

Shin-Komatsu Ishi - Quarried in the vicinity of Manazuru Town, Kanagawa Prefecture

Compared to Hon-Komatsu Stone, it is slightly less dense and has a coarser surface texture, yet the two are nearly indistinguishable. Production of Shin-Komatsu Stone has been increasing in recent years.

Nebugawa Ishi - Quarried in Odawara City, Kanagawa Prefecture

While the texture of the stone surface is not significantly different from that of Komatsu stone, it is characterized by well-developed platy jointing. Nebugawa stone is also a type of lava rock that originated from the Hakone volcano.
