Rokugien:Literary & Calm Japanese Garden

Rokugien : Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo

Rokugien is one of the Edo feudal lord’s Japanese gardens. In the Meiji period, it had become the privately owned of the Mitsubishi founder Yataro Iwasaki. Although there are so much worthy garden materials in Rokugien, never insist too much, rather have the literary and gently atmosphere.

The Majestic Stone Standing in Silence

The majestic stone standing in silence at Rokugien

The stone standing among the garden trees quietly, it seems to welcome the visitor. This roundish warm stone is set to face to the visitor as if talking to him while awaiting. It has a warm rounded, stable big, and is set in perfect height and arranged in good balance of the garden trees. This one pivotal stone is effecting a high grade to the whole scene and the special hospitality for the visitor. If it was a featureless stone, it will be only a stepstone path scene.

The Natural Stone Arrangement

The natural stone arrangement at Rokugien

The stones are not set readily, it is arranged to be close to the nature with a deep consideration by the garden craftsmen. It comes to flash back that the master giving the directions and specifies to set each stones to his pupils far from seen the whole scene. It takes a lot of time to arrange the whole balance while showing a good angle of the single stone, it is profound and fun work. Water exuded from the mountain grows a moss on the surface of the stones, it goes very slowly and infallible live in nature.
